MultiVersus, the crossover platform fighter that brought together iconic characters from Warner Bros. properties, is set to go offline after its fifth and final season. Developed by Player First Games, the game allowed players to battle beloved characters from franchises like DC, Looney Tunes, and Scooby-Doo. But with the conclusion of Season 5, the game will transition to offline-only play.

Season 5 will begin on February 4, 2025, at 9am PST and run until May 30, 2025. After this date, MultiVersus will no longer be available for download from digital storefronts.

MultiVersus to go offline after final season

As of January 31, the ability to make real-money purchases has been disabled, meaning players can no longer buy Gleamium, the in-game currency.

However, all remaining Gleamium and character tokens can still be used to unlock content through the end of the final season.

The final season will introduce two new characters: DC’s Aquaman and Looney Tunes’ Lola Bunny. Players can unlock Aquaman through the Battle Pass at the first tier, while Lola Bunny will be available as a daily login reward. All new content will be fully earnable through gameplay.

How to access offline MultiVersus?

For those wishing to continue enjoying MultiVersus after its online servers are shut down, there is good news. Player First Games offers offline local play for single-player or multiplayer with friends.

To access offline play, players must download the latest version of the game and log in at least once during Season 5. This will allow them to preserve all their earned content for offline use.
