Owing to an unidentified outage, Elon Musk-owned social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is reportedly down in the US and the UK.

Citing Downdetector, an independent website keeping a close watch on outages, Reuters reported that over 21,000 users were unable to access the popular microblogging site in the US.

In the UK, more than 10,800 reports were lodged by frequent X users about the outage unfolding here on Monday.

Since the figures quoted above are based on user-filed complaints on one specific outage tracker, it should be noted that they are expected to differ from the actual number of users who encountered disruptions in using or accessing X.

As of 6:24am (ET), the severance of the X outage was reported by the publication to be easing, as the number of reports on Downdetector reduced significantly to 403 from the previously filed 21,000 complaints in the US.

Whereas in the UK, the number of reports about glitches on X plunged to 200 from the previous 10,800 complaints.
