The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is preparing to roll out self-service kiosks across Pakistan to make the renewal and re-issuance of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) faster and more convenient.

The plan was announced during the Data Fest 2025 at the Pak-China Friendship Centre.

Nadra spokesperson Shabahat Ali highlighted that the Kiosks are intended to save people from waiting in long queues at Nadra centres while providing access to necessary registration services that anyone can avail with ease.

Ali added that the high-tech kiosks would enable people to get their CNICs renewed or reissued without any help from the data entry operators, as the applicants would be able to take photographs, provide thumb impressions, and complete the whole process on their own.

He said more than 85% of Pakistan's population has been registered in the national database, reflecting strong progress toward digital inclusion.

Nadra currently operates 256 mobile registration vans across the country, providing identity services in remote or underserved areas.
