The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) on Wednesday issued an alert for citizens living in Pakistan about a fake website impersonating the authority to scam people.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nadra stated that 'idcardtracking.online' is a fraudulent website. "Citizens, especially overseas Pakistanis, are advised not to deal with agents or third-party service providers for identity-related services.

"To avoid fraud, use only Nadra’s official platform: Pak ID mobile app," said the authority.

Nadra stated that whether you're looking for services such as National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) processing, ID card issuance, or even job opportunities, don't trust third-party websites.

For instance, if you're seeking ways to apply for a Family Registration Certificate (FRC), then Nadra has made it easier for you to do so by using the Pak-ID mobile application.

To get an FRC, you are required to have the 13-digit Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number of all family members, and photographs for any family member under 18.

The specific documents required depend on whether you are applying by birth or marriage, and the authority urges applicants to ensure that all names are correctly spelt and that all family members have up-to-date, registered records with Nadra.
