Google’s AI chat-bot (Gemini), has rapidly evolved since its initial release, cementing its place as one of today’s top AI chat-bots. Known for frequent model upgrades, Gemini continuously grows more intelligent and responsive, and a major 2.0 update might be on the horizon.
In recent UI tweaks aimed at Android users, Google has focused on a clean, user-friendly interface. As reported by 9to5Google, subtle adjustments in the app's design address some common user concerns.
Gemini's home screen allows file attachment to chats
The home screen now features a “+” icon, simplifying it by adding images and files to chats. Additionally, a notable change is the dark-mode theming of the microphone and camera icon container, which now adapts to users' display preferences.
New shades in Gemini's container
Previously, this container retained a light blue shade, regardless of the dark mode setting. In the latest beta (version 15.42), it now appears gray in dark mode and lighter gray in light mode.

Beyond UI enhancements, Google has integrated more Gemini-related features into its ecosystem. Google Chat, for instance, recently introduced a Gemini-powered Summaries feature, designed to streamline conversations by condensing unread messages. Gemini now supports Imagen 3 for improved text-to-speech capabilities, enhancing image generation for users.
These updates signal Google’s commitment to refining Gemini’s functionalities and user experience, allowing users to engage with the chat-bot more seamlessly, even when their phones are locked. Gemini’s evolution seems well-aligned with Google’s push toward accessible and powerful AI-driven tools.
