The original Switch revitalised Nintendo after the Wii U’s struggles. It featured iconic games like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario, which helped extend its lifecycle.
According to leaks, the Switch 2 will follow a similar strategy, offering backward compatibility and supporting existing game subscriptions. This approach mirrors Sony’s transition from the PS4 to PS5, which maintained strong earnings without major disruptions.
Nintendo is reportedly preparing to ship over 10 million units in the first year to meet demand.
