OpenAI has recently upgraded the ChatGPT 's-4o mini model and incorporated a few significant features. The mini model already lacked some features in contrast to the larger version but now it has got a major upgrade which was much needed and has brought it closer to par with GPT-4o.
GPT-4o mini model upgrades
GPT-4o mini model recently received these major upgrades:
Image generation
The 4o-mini model has received an improved upgrade that lets you generate impressive images based on the text prompts that the users provided, reminiscent of the full GPT-4o model.
It works similarly to the original ChatGPT model in terms of functionality, however; the speed might vary.
Browsing
The GPT-4o mini model previously lacked internet access, which was considerably the biggest limitation but now users can easily use it via ChatGPT and browse faster as compared to GPT-4o and receive the latest information rather than depending on the pre-trained knowledge base that used to provide outdated information. This feature has certainly played a pivotal role in bringing it up to par with the standard model of ChatGPT.

Uploading
Previously, the GPT-4o mini model lacked an uploading option, but it has since undergone a significant update it can diligently analyse, and summarise the uploaded files and media.
Especially, the visual processing feature allows it to briefly explain the uploaded picture similar to the text. It makes the complicated visual data easier to understand, which makes it perfect for use in education.
Memory
One of the best features that has now been added to its library is memory. It can easily handle long-term interactions as it allows users to remember the old conversation and tailor interactions accordingly. So right after ending a conversation, users can return and receive relevant answers, and follow-ups on the recent discussion.
