In line with Pakistan's vision of equipping the youth with high-in-demand digital skills nationwide, the IT ministry, along with the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), has launched an incredible initiative called “Prime Minister’s SkillTech Pakistan.”

The PM's SkillTech Pakistan programme is crafted to transform digital skills development and empower young Pakistanis to excel in globally recognised tech fields like artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.

State Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced the programme, highlighting its mission: “The ‘Prime Minister’s SkillTech Pakistan’ platform will introduce six flagship programmes that will equip Pakistan’s youth with globally competitive skills.”

The IT minister also emphasised the importance of solidifying industry connections and preparing a future-ready workforce.

Khawaja noted: “We have already trained more than 3 million Pakistanis through our DigiSkills initiative,” making up for a record IT export figure of over $691 million between July and August 2025.

PSEB CEO Abu Bakr added that the programme “is about making our youth employable, competitive, and confident in the global marketplace.” The goal is to train over 2.1 million Pakistanis in the next three years, establishing Pakistan as a regional digital hub.

Major components of the initiative include Skill Bridge, connecting ICT graduates with employers through internships, and the Certified to Export (C2X) domain, helping IT firms achieve international certifications.

The move marks a huge step for Pakistan towards building a knowledge-based economy.
