Pakistan's IT ministry announces internship program to empower youth

Part of its notable efforts to align Pakistan with powerful digital transformations globally, Pakistan's IT ministry has announced a nationwide internship program to empower youth, including undergraduates and recent graduates, to take part in the nationwide digital adoption.

The IT ministry internship initiative forms part of the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative, providing young individuals with practical experience in areas such as ICT policy, digital innovation, software development, cybersecurity, and project management.

The move highlights the government's goal of fostering innovation, research, and skill development within public sector ICT operations, Phoneworld reported.

It's noteworthy that the internship will last three months, and may possibly extend to six months based on performance. Selected applicants will get a chance to engage in national projects and gain insights into policymaking processes essential for Pakistan's digital advancement.

Who is eligible for IT ministry internship program

To secure an IT ministry internship, applicants need to be pursuing degrees in information technology, telecommunications, or related fields, with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 required for eligibility.

Eligibility requirements

Candidates eager to hop on an IT ministry internship are required to submit the following documents:

  • A completed MoITT Internship Application Form with a Statement of Purpose
  • An updated résumé or CV
  • A letter from their university confirming enrolment or graduation
  • Copies of academic transcripts and certificates
