PlayStation Network outage still active, Sony pledges swift recovery

In a stream of disorientation engulfing the gaming industry, PlayStation Network (PSN) has been undergoing a worldwide outage for the past few hours.

Players encountering the outage expressed dissatisfaction over not being able to access and immerse into their favourite titles.

According to Android Authority, the outage crippled the gaming platform on Monday sometime during evening hours, with reports flooding Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter) while service tracker website Downdetector's report log displayed a significant toll of complaints about the PSN outage.

In light of these reports, Sony's top-notch gaming platform registered functionality lags spanning from sign-in, gaming, apps, downloads, purchases, and more.

PSN Service Status page showed that the outage affected everything from the PS Vita to the latest consoles, including the PS5. The PSN outage was unaddressed until the last official update at 9:21 PM ET on the status page.

Despite remaining intact for more time than it should have been, it appears that the outage is nearing its termination as Sony on the PSN Service Status page assured that the resolution is underway, and the issues with the PSN Network will soon be fixed.
