The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a new facility in which overseas Pakistanis and international visitors can enjoy the use of their mobile phones in Pakistan without tax for 120 days.

The objective of the PTA is to ease and facilitate communications for everyone involved, either by staying in Pakistan for good or just for the time being.

PTA Temporary Mobile Registration System

This service, which is referred to as the Temporary Mobile Registration System, is for those who travel to Pakistan temporarily.

Visitors, according to this service, are able to register their mobiles for free and continue using them without any breakage in services for four months (120 days).

This registration is available for each visit to the country and ensures that overseas Pakistanis do not have to pay import duties on personal phones being used temporarily.

How to register your phone on PTA Temporary Mobile Registration System?

The process is easy, free of cost, and online. Visitors are required to register their mobile phones by going to the official Device Registration System (DRS) portal at https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs.

PTA recommends that travellers complete the process immediately upon arrival in Pakistan to ensure that there is no disruption in service.
