The Punjab government has introduced free WiFi to facilitate internet access for locals in Rahim Yar Khan. The government introduced this initiative as an effort to increase the region's digital connectivity.

Several important locations in Rahim Yar Khan, such as Adda Khanpur, City Pull, School Bazaar, the train station, Jail Chowk, and Hospital Chowk, offer free WiFi to the public.

Students, locals, and guests can easily access the internet and stay connected thanks to the service, which runs from Dari Sangi to Chak No 72-PN.

This programme is a component of a broader initiative to offer free WiFi throughout Punjab. Lahore currently has more than 200 free WiFi hotspots and 270 hotspots spread across 11 districts.

The project is being managed by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, which has also expanded the service to other cities, such as Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum, Attock, Sahiwal, Okara, and Murree.

To date, over 265 terabytes of data have been used by over 13 million users of the free WiFi.

The service aims to make citizens' lives easier by offering convenient internet access for daily needs; however, it isn't intended for entertainment purposes, video streaming, or emergency calls.

The initiative of the Punjab government seeks to close the digital divide and give every citizen equal access to opportunities and information.

By offering free WiFi, the government intends to enhance citizens' quality of life and facilitate their access to necessary services and information.
