Punjab has introduced a new system to automate its development projects. This system uses advanced technology to monitor and review projects daily through an online portal.

By adopting automation, the government of Punjab aims to make the developmental processes more transparent and efficient.

The automation system aims to reduce corruption and ensure appropriate use of funds, with real-time data delivered through the system that will make it difficult for any discrepancies to go unnoticed.

This will also attract trust from the public and ensure that their development projects are delivered.

Real-time monitoring and reporting

The new automation system will help track the progress of development projects in real time. This means that any such delays or issues can be identified and, therefore, addressed very quickly.

Moreover, detailed project status reports from the system will also enable informed decision-making on the part of officials. Data-driven governance models in this system ensure that projects are implemented with less delay.

Solarisation programme for sustainable farming

The Punjab government has also initiated a solarisation programme. This programme aims to convert agricultural tube wells to solar energy, helping farmers save on energy costs and promoting sustainable farming.

Furthermore, under this programme, about 8,000 agricultural tube wells across Punjab will be converted into solar energy. To support this transition, the government has allocated Rs9 billion worth of subsidies.
