The Punjab government on Wednesday launched 15 electric buses in Chakwal, marking another major step in the province to clean, modern, and sustainable public transport.
According to officials, the launch of electric buses supports the provincial government’s long-term vision of a cleaner and quieter Punjab, offering citizens better and more travel options.
It should be noted that electric buses are known for:
- Zero tailpipe emissions
- Reduced noise pollution
- Lower operating costs
- Better energy efficiency
The new fleet of buses features advanced noise-reduction technology, making travel smoother and more comfortable for passengers.
Key routes of electric buses in Chakwal
The electric buses will be operated by the Punjab Transport Company (PTC) across key routes in Chakwal, which include:
- District Complex to Dhudial
- Tehsil Chowk to Balkasar
- Tehsil Chowk to Mohal Mughlan
These key routes are being selected on the basis of high passenger demand and the need to introduce efficient, low-emission transport alternatives.
PTC have urged the citizens to support the electric bus service by using eco-friendly transport options. Adoption of more electric buses is expected to improve air quality, reduce dependency on fossil fuels, promote healthier, greener cities, and enhance the overall commuter experience.
