Realme recently unveiled two new smartphone models in India: the Realme 12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. The Realme 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, while the Pro+ model, features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset.
Both phones run on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 and sport triple rear camera setups. The Realme 12 Pro+ offers three colour options with vegan leather finishes and has been teased to launch with a transparent back panel.

Gadgets360, citing Francis Wong, Realme's Europe CEO, shared a live image of the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G with a transparent back panel on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The slightly extended telephoto periscope lens inside the camera module confirms that it is indeed the Realme 12 Pro+ model. This camera module is surrounded by a golden dial similar to those seen in previously launched variants.

Wong hinted at the upcoming launch of this design variation but did not provide specific details regarding the timeline or availability. Consequently, it remains uncertain whether the Indian market will witness the launch of the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G featuring a transparent back panel.

Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC and Adreno 710 GPU, the Realme 12 Pro+ boasts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery supporting 67W SuperVOOC charging.

The triple rear camera setup comprises a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra wide-angle lens. The front camera features a 32-megapixel sensor. The variant with the teased transparent rear panel is expected to offer similar specifications to the models with faux leather finishes.
Realme 12 Pro+ 5G storage options
The Realme 12 Pro+ is offered in Navigator Beige, Submarine Blue, and Explorer Red colour options. In India pricing starts at INR 29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB configuration, while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants are priced at INR 31,999 and INR 33,999, respectively.
