Redmi has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming earbuds, the Redmi Buds 5, in India. Through its social media channels, the company disclosed that the device is set to be unveiled in the country next week.
Alongside this announcement, some key specifications of the Redmi Buds 5 have also been revealed, highlighting features such as support for 46dB hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) and 12.4mm drivers. This launch comes just one month after the introduction of the Redmi Note 13 5G series in India.
Teasers for the earbuds were shared by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer on X (formerly known as Twitter), indicating that the headset is scheduled to be launched on February 12. Further details about the Redmi Buds 5 were disclosed on a dedicated landing page hosted on Redmi's website.
Notably, the truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones will be equipped with 12.4mm dynamic drivers, while the Hybrid ANC feature is capable of suppressing ambient sounds down to 46 dB.

Initial impressions from promotional images suggest that the design of the earbuds closely resembles that of the Redmi Buds 4 Active, although the case design appears distinct, resembling that of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. The available colour options include black and white variants.
Gadgets360, citing Tipster Ishan Agarwal, has suggested that the Redmi Buds 5 will come with three transparency modes. While Redmi is yet to officially confirm these modes, the company has hinted at the presence of various sound modes for the TWS earphones.
The Redmi Buds 5 is expected to support dual-device pairing and may also incorporate Google Fast Pair technology for seamless connection with paired devices, as suggested by the tipster. Redmi has also highlighted features such as dual microphones and an AI call enhancement feature, aimed at improving call clarity for users.
Although specific details regarding the battery life of the earbuds were not disclosed by the Chinese smartphone maker, it was stated that the case would provide users with up to 38 hours of playtime. Leaks suggest that the earbuds themselves may offer up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge.
