Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) — one of the most anticipated games in the world — will now release on November 19, 2026.

The announcement, shared through the Rockstar Newswire and the studio’s official X account, confirmed the delay and apologised to fans across the globe, including Pakistan.

GTA VI, created by Rockstar Games, represents the next major title in the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto franchise.

It will stay within the franchise's tradition of open-world gameplay, stories of crime, and urban environments, returning players to Vice City, in the fictitious state of Leonida.

In its official release, Rockstar Games stated that a delay was required before the next instalment of the series would return; according to the studio, it will take a little longer to meet its high standards.

“We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve,” the studio said.

The delay quickly trended on social media in Pakistan, where gaming communities are anticipating the release of GTA VI.

Gaming pages and prominent streamers have been posting reactions, with fans expressing their disappointment and some appreciating that Rockstar Games is focused on delivering a quality product.

At the same time, many rumours are indicating that there could be uncertainty internally, which might mean development may also take some time to get all systems tested with optimisations.

However, Rockstar Games maintains that the team is committed to delivering a fully refined experience.
