Samsung is working on a new mid-range smartphone for the Galaxy A-series, the Galaxy A56, which is set to debut as a successor to the Galaxy A55.
The handset has made an appearance on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website which suggested that the Galaxy A56 might surpass the recently unveiled Galaxy S25 in charging capabilities.
Galaxy A56 to surpass flagship S25
The FCC listing confirmed that the Galaxy A56 will support 45W wired charging speeds, outpacing the flagship Galaxy S25, which supports 25W charging speed.
However, this revelation is not entirely surprising, as China's 3C certification website had previously listed the Galaxy A56 with 45W charging speeds in November.
That said, this has raised questions about Samsung's charging strategy, particularly given the significant price difference between the Galaxy A56 and the Galaxy S25.

The FCC listing also suggested that the Galaxy A56 will be powered by the Exynos 1580 processor.
Moreover, earlier leaks suggested that the Galaxy A56 will feature a high-capacity 5,000mAh battery.
The handset will sport a triple rear camera system, comprising 50MP, 12MP, and 5MP sensors. It will also have support for Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6.
