The Shanghai Auto Show proved to be the world’s biggest car exhibition earlier this week, and given the groundbreaking showcase of electric vehicles (EVs), robots, and even flying cars from countless automakers, it appears that China is now revolutionising the high-end landscape of sophisticated vehicles.
Despite international tensions mounting and tariffs changing global trade, around 1,000 exhibitors gathered in Shanghai to disclose their offerings, reflecting the future of mobility.
Making numerous EVs, humanoid robots, and flying cars seem trivial, Chinese EV giant BYD led the charge at the show, which recently outperformed Tesla sales globally, according to ProPakistani.
BYD introduced five new Ocean series models at the Shanghai Auto Show, including a luxury SUV under its Yangwang brand, and a futuristic sports car from Denza. The widely popular EV maker has been registering strong sales and rising revenue.
Xpeng, another Chinese EV brand, also drew crowds' applause with a humanoid robot and a concept flying car, indicating its ambitions in next-gen mobility and robotics.
Foreign automakers at the expo also attempted to prove they are keeping up with the Chinese giants. Stefan Rosen, head of design at Lynk & Co, acknowledged China's dominance: “The industry is led through China.”
The show brought up not only China’s lead in EVs, but also its growing influence on the global automotive future.
