The People’s Bus Service in Sindh has taken a major step towards modernising public transport with the launch of its Command and Control Centre. Inaugurated by Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon, the facility is located at D-43 Block 2, Clifton, at the Sindh Mass Transit Authority office.

This state-of-the-art centre is designed to live-track, monitor, and facilitate operations for the People’s Bus Service across the province.

The system will enhance passenger convenience, ensure proper staff conduct, and improve overall service efficiency.

Memon emphasised the significance of this innovation, saying it provides real-time monitoring of bus operations, including live video surveillance.

This ensures passenger safety and addresses complaints promptly, such as excessive fares or lost belongings. Passengers can now file complaints using designated numbers, with the assurance of timely redressal.

People’s Bus Service live-tracking command centre features

  • Live Monitoring: Real-time tracking of bus routes and passenger convenience.
  • Complaint resolution: Cameras capture footage to resolve issues like lost items or misconduct.
  • Card system: A previously introduced digital ticketing system makes boarding simpler.

Memon highlighted that this is the first time such an advanced command and control system has been implemented in Sindh.

He compared it to facilities available in developed countries, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving public services.
