Spotify has officially announced an update, which will make it easier to read lyrics while your music plays. The company has begun rolling out the new update that brings song lyrics directly into the Now Playing screen, putting them front and centre for listeners.

Spotted by Reddit users, this new feature shows line-by-line lyrics in sync with the music track that the user will be playing. The feature is also compatible with Spotify's existing 'Lyrics' preview accessible via a 'swipe-up' panel.

How does Spotify's new feature work?

For those who would like to turn back to the classic Spotify player layout, there's a capability to disable the feature by tapping a three-dot icon within the Now Playing screen.

Spotify has kept the full lyrics window intact. The feature still sits below the Now Playing screen for those who prefer a larger, dedicated view while listening, as it allows users to choose the experience that suits them best.

It is important to note that the feature is optional; if any user doesn't like seeing lyrics under the album art, they can turn them off. In addition, Spotify is testing a resize option for the full-screen lyrics mode. Some users have already seen this feature inside the Spotify Beta app.

Spotify has released its features like Prompted Playlists and has also been spotted working on other features that users have requested for a long time, like changes to usernames and better audiobook discovery features.
