In a move hinting at the country's fast-paced strides in the realm of satellite-driven internet sphere, Starlink has been officially launched in Bangladesh.
Having initiated its operations in Bangladesh in a full-fledged manner, Starlink's debut will now deliver high-speed connectivity countrywide, especially in areas that are left underserved by conventional broadband services.
In a post shared on Elon Musk-owned social media site X (formerly Twitter) on May 20, Starlink confirmed its availability in Bangladesh, ensuring unhindered high-speed, low-latency internet.
Starlink is offering two residential packages in Bangladesh: Starlink Residence at Tk6,000 per month and Residence Lite at Tk4,200 per month, with a one-time installation fee of Tk47,000.
Both packages come with unlimited data usage with speeds of up to 300 Mbps. Starlink’s entry is particularly catering to businesses, NGOs, freelancers, and entrepreneurs who heavily depend on high-quality internet services.
The interim government has approved Starlink as a non-geostationary orbit satellite internet provider, aiming to ensure connectivity remains stable during periods of political unrest. This move follows last year's disruptions when internet access was temporarily suspended during protests.
Starlink’s operations in Bangladesh mark the beginning of a new era of internet connectivity, providing netizens with uninterrupted, high-speed connectivity even in challenging times.
