Big and burly boxer Ed is set to join the roster of Street Fighter 6 on February 27th, marking his debut as the game's 21st playable character. Previously announced as the upcoming DLC fighter, Ed now comes with an official release date alongside a thrilling new gameplay trailer.
Accompanying Ed's arrival is the launch of the "Ed Arrives!" Fighting Pass, granting players access to exclusive boxing-themed gear. Additionally, players can anticipate the introduction of a new stage named Ruined Lab, along with several quality-of-life enhancements such as the ability to toggle button displays on PC and enhanced lighting features in photo mode.
Ed, known for his appearance in Street Fighter 5 where he defied the malevolent intentions of series antagonist M. Bison to establish the Neo Shadaloo organisation, returns with all his signature moves centered around punches.
From his Psycho Flicker to his Psycho Blitz, every move packs a punch, showcasing his prowess as a boxer. Ed enthusiasts can unlock him through the Year 1 Character Pass or Year 1 Ultimate Pass, while Deluxe or Ultimate edition owners will also have access.
Despite boasting 3 million copies sold as of January, Street Fighter 6 faces formidable competition with the recent launch of Namco's Tekken 8.
