Toyota has introduced the Hilux Hybrid 48V, a new version of its legendary pickup truck, known for its durability and off-road performance. The new vehicle brings improved fuel efficiency, more refined driving, and enhanced off-road ability without losing the Hilux's ruggedness.

The Hilux Hybrid 48V enters the UK market in the premium Invincible X Double Cab model, providing commercial and recreational drivers with a blend of power and green credentials.

Toyota Hilux Hybrid 48V specifications

This mild hybrid system integrates an electric motor-generator, a lithium-ion hybrid battery, and a DC-DC converter with the 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine. This configuration reduces fuel consumption and makes the Hilux Hybrid 48V quieter and smoother on city streets or off-road.

Although it has its hybrid upgrade, the Hilux still has its 700mm wading depth, 1,000kg payload capacity, and 3,500kg towing capability, making it a strong and capable workhorse.

The Hilux Hybrid 48V includes significant upgrades such as Toyota's Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system, which has six driving modes: Sand, Mud, Rock, Dirt, Deep Snow, and Auto. They provide optimized performance for various surfaces.

In addition, the hybrid system enhances acceleration, makes the stop-start function better, and applies regenerative braking for a smoother driving experience.

Toyota has also enhanced safety and connectivity features. Hilux Hybrid 48V features Toyota Safety Sense, which incorporates a Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic High Beam.

Additionally, the truck is also equipped with the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system, which has an eight-inch touchscreen, cloud-based navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. MyToyota app also provides remote control of the vehicle and scheduling for services.
