Motorcycle prices in Pakistan have once again increased following the new measures announced in the federal budget 2025–26. Yamaha Motor Pakistan and Unique have revised their entire motorcycle lineups in response to the government’s new New Energy Vehicle (NEV) levy and other tax changes.
To note, the new prices officially came into effect on July 1, 2025, raising concerns in the automobile industry across Pakistan.

Yamaha has announced price adjustments across its popular models:
- YB125Z (Red/Black): Rs429,000 (includes Rs65,441 in sales tax and Rs4,057 NEV levy)
- YB125Z DX (Red/Black/Grey): Rs459,500
- YBR125 (Red/Grey/Black): Rs471,500
- YBR125G (Black): Rs490,500
- YBR125G Matt Finish: Rs493,500
With the introduction of the NEV levy, the Shehbaz Sharif-led government aims to reduce fuel vehicles and encourage the shift towards greener vehicles while broadening the tax base.
Unique motorcycle prices in Pakistan
On the other hand, Unique has also announced a fresh price hike for its popular UD-70cc series, effective July 18, 2025.
- UD-70cc (Base model): Rs121,500
- UD-70cc Extreme Plus: Rs125,000
- UD-70cc Special Edition: Rs128,500
- UD-70cc Extreme Plus Alloy Rims: Rs135,000
- UD-70cc Selfstart variant: Rs147,000
It is worth noting that the steady increase in motorcycle prices is putting additional pressure on everyday commuters and small businesses, for whom motorcycles are a vital means of affordable transport.
However, the NEV levy aims to promote the adoption of electric and hybrid motorcycles; its immediate impact has been a notable increase in the retail price of petrol-driven models.
