Valve officially confirmed on Friday that the Steam Deck will begin shipping to Australia next month, in Nover

The announcement came directly from the company during PAX Australia, where Steam Deck marked its first-ever appearance in the country.

Valve Steam Deck now available in Australia

Since its launch in March 2022, Steam Deck emerged as a popular gaming handheld available in regions, including North America (US and Canada), Europe, and in some Asian countries, such as Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan.

The gaming handheld comes in various models with an option for gamers to choose from, giving it an upper hand compared to its rivals.

The Steam Deck boasts impressive specs, including a custom AMD APU, optimised for handheld gaming. However, the OLED version offers a slightly larger screen, a longer-lasting battery, a higher refresh rate, and Wi-Fi 6E for faster downloads.

Following the rollout, people can now purchase a Steam Deck directly from the company. Earlier, it was only available through resellers. The compnay is yet to reveal the launch date.

Valve Steam Deck pricing in Australia

Notably, the pricing for the Steam Deck appears to be higher in Australia than the US likely due to different power systems and manufacturing costs.

Both the original LCD and newer OLED versions of the Valve Steam Deck will be available across the country. The 256GB LCD model is priced at AUD 649, the OLED 512GB model will cost AUD 899 while the 1TB OLED will be available for AUD 1,049.
