Enthusiasts keen to immerse in action games should brace for a groundbreaking development as Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio recently confirmed that this popular 3D fighter title will let users play in multiplayer mode online, regardless of the console they have.
Announced during a special Virtua Fighter online event, the new update will also include a feature called rollback netcode, which is expected to make live battles much smoother.
Series producer Seiji Aoki remarked that the update is a result of fans' demand to make the game compatible with more consoles.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. was already released on PC with better graphics. However, the developers noted that these new console editions will be more than just simple copies, hinting at extra bits and pieces.
While the release date has not been provided, SEGA said assured fans that they will be updated. For PlayStation users, an older version of the game can already be played on PS5.
The new online features mean players on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch 2 will finally be able to face off one another.
