Microsoft has announced that it has resolved the problem of VPN connection failures on Windows. Earlier this year, the company issued a security update for Windows.
Despite this update, users encountered difficulties connecting their devices to VPN. The affected Windows versions include Windows 11 (versions 23H2, 22H2, and 21H2), Windows 10 (versions 22H2 and 21H2), and Windows Server 2008.
"Windows devices might face VPN connection failures after installing the April 2024 security update (KB5036983) or the April 2024 non-security preview update," Microsoft stated.

In May, Microsoft released a security update for Windows that includes a solution for the issue.
"This issue was resolved by Windows updates released May 14, 2024 (KB5037771), and later. We recommend you install the latest security update for your device. It contains important updates and issue resolutions, including this one" the company added.
If the May security update has not yet arrived on your Windows laptop, it is recommended that users remove the April cumulative update that caused the problem in the first place. Once the latest update is available on your device, you should install it immediately.
