WhatsApp on Tuesday launched a new update, which allows users to select any emoji to add it as a reaction sticker to their status, designed to provide them with a better experience.
The Meta-owned instant messaging platform, in a statement, said that this feature is designed to increase engagement, with reactions appearing privately in the creator's chat and featuring, in some cases, animated confetti effects.
Here's how reaction stickers work on WhatsApp status
- Users can easily choose any emoji to add as a reaction sticker to your status. Friends and family can join in on the moment and react with just a tap.
- Tap the Sticker icon when creating a status, then choose Reaction and your emoji.
- Once you have selected the emoji, it will automatically added as a sticker on WhatsApp status.
Last week, WhatsApp launched a new layer of security for users, built with Rust, as part of its efforts to harden defenses against malware threats.
Meta-owned instant messaging platform, in a blog post, said that it allows users to have a private conversation, just like one would in-person. It will always defend the right to privacy for its users, starting with default end-to-end encryption.
"There is also a programming language called Rust behind the scenes to help keep photos, videos, and messages safe from things like spyware, so the users can share and chat with confidence," said the company.
WhatsApp users can enable 'Strict Account Settings' by going to Settings > Privacy > Advanced. 'Strict Account Settings' is one of many ways to protect the users from the most sophisticated of cyber threats.
