In line with Pakistan's significant strides towards digital advancement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approved the use of Wi-Fi 7 and future Wi-Fi generations within the 6 GHz band (5925–6425 MHz).
The nod for the deployment of Wi-Fi 7 follows the telecom regulator's earlier approval for Wi-Fi 6E.
The development places Pakistan among the early adopters of the next-gen connectivity technologies in the Asia-Pacific region, highlighting the country's dedication to digital innovation.
Besides delivering impeccably faster internet, Wi-Fi 7 offers ultra-high data speeds, low latency, and reliable connections, best-suited for graphically challenging tasks like 8K streaming, augmented and virtual reality, and industrial automation.
By reducing congestion in older frequency bands and broadband costs, the latest Wi-Fi tech will enhance connectivity for homes, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and smart cities.
Paving the foundations of the impending Wi-Fi 7 launch in Pakistan, the achievement reflects the regulatory body’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and promoting an inclusive digital economy.
