Before 2020, the WWDC was an in-person event held in San Jose, California, wherein participants had to pay $1,599 for a ticket to attend as the space was limited.
However, from 2020, Apple has made WWDC an online event for all developers, with occasional in-person sessions held at Apple Park from 2022.
Last year's WWDC event began with refreshments for developers and students, followed by the keynote presentation. In a follow up, the Platforms State of the Union was conducted, with attendees having the option to go with one of the two Apple park tours offered to the, and the ending with the distribution of Apple Design Awards and an evening meal.
Apple Park is free, but Apple does not provide transportation or accommodation. Given that, visitors coming from other states will have to bear the costs of airfare, hotel accommodations, and transportation to Apple Park.
The window to grab a seat at the in-person event closed yesterday, as the company is now inviting developers chosen through a lottery method.
Developers not invited to the special event can view the keynote, interact with Apple staff, and watch WWDC sessions online. WWDC 2024 is scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 14.
