Following a brief outage that spanned globally, Elon Musk-owned social media network X (formerly Twitter) has been fully restored around the world.
The popular micro-blogging site underwent a mass outage Saturday, which rendered millions of users unable to access the platform in several countries, including Pakistan.
It's worth noting that yesterday's X outage came on the heels of another one, which took place earlier in the week and lasted several hours on Thursday.
Is X still down?
True to the platform's engineering unit's assurance, shared in a tweet, that their "team is working 24/7 to resolve this," X is said to be working fine worldwide.
"Social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) is currently experiencing a mass outage affecting several countries, including Pakistan. This disruption follows a similar global outage faced by the platform on Thursday, May 22, which lasted for several hours before being resolved by the platform itself," wrote the Pakistan Telecom Authority on Saturday.
During the recent disruption on X, users were unable to make tweets, refresh feeds, or log into their accounts.
Addressing the rumoured blackout prompting an X outage in Pakistan, the telecom regulatory body also claimed that the blackout on X services was not linked to Pakistan's internet infrastructure, assuring curious netizens that the internet services in the country were functioning well.
This was also corroborated by NetBlocks, a global internet monitoring group. It outlined that the outage was widespread and was not an outcome of any blockage or tinkering with the internet framework.
