The X (formerly Twitter) rival social networking site Bluesky has released a new trending topics feature in the beta version of the platform, allowing users to stay up-to-date on popular conversations.
Bluesky has garnered immense acclaim globally over the past few months and secured a wider user base. Recently, Bluesky surpassed 25 million users worldwide.
Trending topics feature on Bluesky
Exclusively for beta testers, the trending topics feature is available on both desktop and mobile apps.
To access trending topics on the desktop, Bluesky users can find them on the right sidebar. However, on mobile apps, users can tap the search button to view trending topics.
Users also have complete control over the feature and can disable it by navigating to Settings > Content and Media and unchecking the "Enable trending topics" option.
Moreover, similar to X, Bluesky has implemented a feature that carries over muted words to trending topics, ensuring that users don't see content they've previously muted.
Currently, the trending topics feature is only available in the English language, while Bluesky plans to add more languages to it over time.
While Bluesky has just introduced trending topics, some third-party clients, like Greysky and Bluesky's rival Threads also have this feature.
