In a recent move, Microsoft announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will drop on Xbox Game Pass today on July 24. It joins as the 12th new title added to the service this month, July 2024.
The game will be available across all non-Core of Xbox Game Pass for both PC and console users.
Modern Warfare 3 is a great addition to the Xbox Game Pass, seeing as it's the very first Call of Duty title to ever appear in the service. Sadly, Microsoft hasn't confirmed whether this game will have support for Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The surprise release comes after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, the publisher behind the game. At the moment, only Diablo 4 has made its way from the acquisition to Xbox Game Pass.
More updates
Interestingly, more Activision Blizzard titles are slated to join the service, with the next rumoured to do so being Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in August 2024.
Last past month, Xbox Game Pass has seen 11 games added, including this week's surprise addition of Modern Warfare 3. To balance things out, though, three games — A Short Hike, Venba, and Train Sim World 4 — will leave service on July 31.
The move demonstrates Microsoft's continued ambitions to grow Xbox Game Pass with premium titles. The service has come a long way since it launched with a large library of games available to subscribers.
