Amazon testing $9.99 a month grocery subscription

Amazon has unveiled a trial version of a novel grocery subscription service exclusively for Prime members in three selected cities. Priced at $9.99 per month, this subscription grants Prime users unlimited complimentary delivery on grocery orders exceeding $35 from both Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh. 

Additionally, subscribers can benefit from unrestricted 30-minute order pickups, regardless of the order size. The trial is currently underway in Denver, Sacramento, and Columbus, as disclosed by the company in an email to TechCrunch.

Tony Hoggett, Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Grocery Stores, expressed, "We're continually exploring features to enhance shopping convenience, speed, and affordability, and we eagerly await feedback from members availing themselves of this opportunity."

As a point of reference, Prime members presently incur a $6.95 fee for Fresh orders ranging between $50 and $100, and a $9.95 fee for orders below $50.
