Google is introducing a new feature in Android 15 QPR1 that will allow users to stop third-party apps from screen recording once their device is locked.
As the highly anticipated Android 15 update approaches, Google is also working on Android 15 QPR1, which is scheduled to roll out to Pixel devices by the end of this year.

What's new in Android 15 QPR1?
Earlier, with the release of Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2, a new keyboard accessibility and an improved notifications management feature were spotted.
However, Android Authority reported that the tech giant recently updated the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 release notes that reflected a key change to how third-party screen recording apps work.
With the release of Android QPR1, all third-party screen recording apps will automatically stop recording when a user presses the phone’s lock button.
To be noted, in Android 14, screen recording continued on third-party apps even if the user had pressed the power button. Now, with Android 15 QPR1 this is changing, adding privacy for screen recordings.
The report also revealed that while this updated screen recording functionality will be on Pixel phones only, other Android devices might have to wait until the Android 16 release to get hands on this feature.
Android 15 release date
Android 15 update will be rolled out in stable form to the Pixel 6 and above devices, including the new Pixel 9 series, on October 15. However, Pixel 5a with 5G or any other older Pixel phone won’t receive this update.
