Apple is reportedly working to develop a foldable iPhone, aiming to compete with foldable handsets from Samsung, Oppo, and Huawei. The upcoming flagship device is likely to feature a book-style design with an "unprecedented" screen ratio.

However, the Cupertino-based tech giant has yet to officially reveal plans for the upcoming device, which has secured patents related to foldable technology.

What to expect from Apple's rumoured iPhone?

The upcoming iPhone is likely to support a 5.49-inch cover display, similar to the outer screen on Oppo's first-generation Find N.

While, on the inner side, the foldable is likely to feature a 7.74-inch screen that "unfolds like an iPad," offering an enlarged display area to watch content.

In addition, the rumoured device is likely to feature a shorter and thicker build than other foldables.

If launched, Apple’s foldable iPhone would compete with book-style foldables, including the Oppo Find N series and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. The device is likely to offer both tablet and mobile functionalities, solidifying its position as a versatile hybrid product.

Several reports suggested that the foldable iPhone is likely to be released in early 2026. Furthermore, the company is reportedly preparing a foldable iPhone and MacBook, which is likely to launch in 2027.

With this potential release, Apple is set to revolutionise the foldable smartphone market by blending cutting-edge technology with its signature design approach.
