Apple has launched iOS 17.5 with updated features and a new quartiles puzzle game, which is available in the US and Canada. The game allows players to solve puzzles and complete levels by connecting tiles.

The Quartiles displays 20 tiles at the start having five tiles in a grid. The tiles contain two to four letters and you have to combine those tiles to make a single word. For example, you have four tiles written ‘cul’ on one, ‘ti’ on another, ‘va’ on one, and ‘tes’ on one tile. So, you will combine all of these tiles and it will make the word ‘cultivate’. You will get points for making each word.

You can also compare your score with the other users by enabling this feature. Apple writes under the setting option, "Send your results to Game Centre to see how you rank among friends and other solvers on today's puzzles". To enable it, you have to go to settings > News > Tap the toggle next to Game Centre under News+.

The newly launched game is accessible to the subscribers of Apple News Plus only, which costs $13 per month and you can purchase it as a bundle called ‘Apple One’ which also has Apple Arcade with it for $20 per month. Apple users find it more entertaining as the new Quartile game has arrived on their phones but it is also notable that you cannot play the game if you are not an Apple News+ member.

Beside this game feature, the iOS 17.5 has got some other features as well, including, a new privacy setting that allows users to limit apps from accessing their camera, microphone, and location. Additionally, the software update has also included a bug fix that improves the performance of the App Store.
