Apple's new app to manage blood sugar
Citing sources, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on a new feature for prediabetics. This innovative feature is part of an app that Apple has been testing internally with employees who have prediabetes.
The company monitored their blood sugar level using various devices and provided personalised recommendations for healthy food choices.
What is Prediabetes?
Prediabetes is a metabolic condition in which blood sugar levels are higher than normal, increasing the chances of a person developing Type II diabetes. However, it can be reversed through diet and proper exercise.
The app would help people know how different choices can impact their blood sugar levels and will recommend the next meal to keep blood glucose levels stable.
It was also reported that Apple has paused work on the app to prioritise other health features. That said, there’s a possibility that Apple might use these findings in future health tech-related features.
