
Google Drive rolled out a revamped video player with dedicated buttons for fast-forwarding and rewinding options, following the rollout of inventory reporting in the cloud-based service earlier this month.

Google announced this new feature in a blog post, highlighting an enhanced layout with a more modern look. With this feature, Google Drive users can fast-forward or rewind videos by 15 seconds using the new dedicated buttons that appear beside the play and pause buttons.

Moreover, the tech giant has added the option to toggle the playback speed and captions without having to navigate to the settings of the media player.
The new video player design will also be integrated with Google Vids to provide an improved video editing and storage experience. To be noted, Google Vids utilises the Gemini large language model (LLM) for artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
Currently, the revamped video player is rolling out to Google accounts with Rapid Release domains. The feature will be live for all the Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual Subscribers.
However, Google has mentioned that the feature will likely be available to all Google account users within the next 15 days.
