Banks to remain closed on Wednesday

On account of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced to remain closed for public dealing on December 25, 2024 (Wednesday). 

The announcement of the bank closure was shared by the central bank in a statement confirming to observe the day as a bank holiday. The SBP statement also stated that all banks will remain closed, as declared by the government of Pakistan.

In line with the closure of bank operations, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has also announced to remain closed and halt stock trading on December 25, 2024. 

"The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in observance of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, as declared by the government of Pakistan," read the statement issued by PSX. 

Following the holiday, banks will reopen on Thursday, December 26, for regular public transactions.
