OpenAI has finally rolled out one of the highly anticipated search functions, ChatGPT Search, which is all set to outdo its competitors, including Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.

It enables real-time information in conversation and is currently available only for paid subscribers of ChatGPT Plus and Team users, as well as SearchGPT waitlist users via ChatGPT mobile and desktop apps.

While, Enterprise and Edu users will receive its access "in the next few weeks", free users will receive it "over the coming months".

The launch comes as research in the AI space has intensified among tech giants.

OpenAI incorporated the ChatGPT Search into the existing ChatGPT interface instead of releasing a separate product. It determines that when users will need to click the web results based on queries, they can manually activate web searches.

OpenAI said ChatGPT Search "blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more." The company has partnered with "news and data providers to add up-to-date information and new visual designs for categories like weather, stocks, sports, news, and maps."

The company further mentioned that it extensively partnered with the news industry and was focused on user feedback before releasing ChatGPT Search in collaboration with its global publisher partners.
