The Green Buses Initiative and a number of multibillion-rupee development projects in Faisalabad are scheduled to be inaugurated today by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The Green Buses Initiative is a flagship welfare project that aims to directly assist the average person, according to Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, the Prime Minister's political adviser.
The electric bus service will start out on two routes before growing to seven in the upcoming months, with a low fare of Rs20. Senior citizens, students, and people with disabilities will be able to travel for free.
The Rs250 billion development projects include modernising Nishatabad Road, introducing improved sewerage systems, and connecting Satiana and Samundri Roads to the motorway.
The WASA projects are anticipated to be finished in two years while the Rs100 billion Metro Bus project is anticipated to be finished this year.
The Green Buses initiative was commended by Rana Sanaullah, who said that although these projects need government funding, they are better for the general public because they directly benefit the average person.
"The days when people mocked our passport are gone; today, nations welcome Pakistan with respect," Sanaullah said in reference to Pakistan's international standing.
He attributed Pakistan's improved international standing to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's diplomatic efforts.
On the humanitarian front, Maryam Nawaz has also demonstrated compassion by personally supporting flood-affected families and making sure that food, shelter, and necessary supplies are provided.
