The tech world rejoiced with the launch of Copilot Plus PCs, which were packed with revolutionary artificial intelligence (AI) features. However, it looks like these features may not be available at launch and may not arrive until 2024. The delay has raised questions about these PCs' manufacturing and the companies' priorities.
Microsoft's new AI features, like Auto Super Resolution, won't be exclusive to Qualcomm chips. Intel and AMD's new Copilot Plus PCs will also have AI co-processing capabilities.
"We expect to have Copilot+ experiences by the end of 2024," said AMD PR manager Matthew Hurwitz. However, these features won't be available out of the box and will require software updates, which may not arrive until 2024. This means that users will have to wait to experience the full potential of these PCs.

This delay may be a blessing in disguise, as security experts have raised concerns about the Recall feature, which takes screenshots of everything you do on your computer. Reviewers also need time to validate the battery life and performance claims of these new AI PCs.
The delay will give companies time to address these concerns and ensure a smooth user experience. "We are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our users, and we will take the time necessary to ensure that our PCs meet our high standards," said AMD PR manager Matthew Hurwitz.
Intel, AMD, and Nvidia are partnering with Microsoft to deliver Copilot+ PC experiences through free updates. However, none of them have confirmed that these features will be available at launch. This lack of clarity has created confusion among consumers and raised questions about companies' priorities.
