In what seems to be a cornerstone for Pakistan's alignment with global practices involving artificial intelligence (AI), Data Vault Pakistan has established the country’s first AI-focused data centre in Karachi.

The AI data centre has been launched in order to facilitate the development and scaling of the generative technology across Pakistan.

The cutting-edge facility aims to support Pakistan’s booming AI ecosystem by providing much-needed infrastructure for startups, researchers, and government agencies.

The centre offers high-performance Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) computing and secure cloud environments, enabling AI innovation to thrive on Pakistani soil, powered by clean energy and safeguarded by sovereign infrastructure, according to Data Vault.

Mehwish Salman Ali, the founder and CEO of Data Vault Pakistan, stated: “We didn’t just build a data centre—we built a launchpad for Pakistan’s AI future. Our goal is to empower local innovators with the tools they need to create world-class solutions independently.”

With Data Vault, AI startups can now access enterprise-grade GPU-as-a-service, facilitating faster model training and deployment at lower costs. This development promises quicker go-to-market times and increased independence for local founders.

The data facility is open to join hands with universities and research institutes to make the most of scalable infrastructure supporting deep learning and applied AI.

The most intriguing feature of Pakistan's first AI data centre is that it's fully powered by solar energy, standing out as Pakistan’s first green data centre specifically designed for AI, backed by advanced encryption and zero-trust architecture for data protection.
