The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has announced an exciting plan to introduce eco-friendly electric vehicles in Saddar Bazaar, one of the city’s busiest shopping areas.
These battery-powered tourist vehicles aim to make shopping easier for families and improve the air quality by reducing pollution.
This project is part of RCB’s efforts to promote sustainable urban development. By cutting down on petrol and diesel vehicles, including motorcycles, the board hopes to create a cleaner and more enjoyable environment in Saddar.
To kickstart the initiative, RCB has invited companies to submit tenders for the purchase of these electric vehicles. Submissions will remain open until January 2, and the bids will be reviewed on January 6.
The contract will be awarded to the company offering the lowest bid, with work orders expected to go out by January 10.
The Chief Executive Officer of RCB called this move a “significant eco-friendly project,” highlighting the board’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The electric vehicles will not only make Saddar more accessible but also set an example for green development in urban areas.
This eco-friendly project in Saddar Bazaar is a step toward reducing noise and air pollution while making the shopping experience more comfortable for visitors. If successful, it could inspire similar initiatives in other parts of the city.
