Amid tensions between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump, the renowned US-based electric vehicle maker has launched the upgraded versions of the Model S and Model X, its most expensive models, in a bid to strengthen its foothold in the EV market.
Originally launched in 2012 and 2015, these models have received significant updates, including new exterior colour options such as Frost Blue Metallic and Diamond Black.
The top-notch Tesla vehicles now feature redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with aerodynamic wheel designs that enhance driving range.
Improvements have also been made to the suspension for a smoother ride, while the cabin has been refined to reduce noise levels, similar to enhancements seen in the latest Model 3 and Model Y.
Another notable addition on the new models is a front bumper camera with a washer and adaptive driving beams to improve visibility and safety.
The Model X interior has been made more spacious, offering ample space for optional third-row seats and cargo, an ideal choice of families. But, buyers must bear in mind that only the Plaid variants will feature the yoke steering wheel as a $1,000 add-on.
Prices of the latest Tesla Model S and X have also been increased by $5,000 on each variant.
The Model S Long Range starts at $84,990, while the Plaid variant is priced at $99,990. On the other hand, The Model X Long Range costs $89,990, and the Plaid version is available for $104,990.
