The Sindh government has extended the deadline for mandatory biometric verification of vehicle transfers and changes in registration to August 14, 2025, providing vehicle owners with additional time to comply with the new rule.
This vehicle biometric verification system was introduced on September 16, 2024, to prevent fraud and ensure safer, more transparent vehicle transactions.

Under this policy, all vehicles, both new and old, must complete a biometric process using the NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) system when registering or transferring ownership.
"For us, it is important that the process of selling and purchasing vehicles is safe for all," said Sharjeel Inam Memon, the Senior Minister for Transport, Information, and Excise in Sindh.
The policy rolls out in phases. The first phase was rolled out on July 1, 2024, where biometric checks are now required to register newly purchased vehicles. The second phase took effect on November 1, where used car buyers are now required to undergo biometric checks.
In the last phase, both the seller and buyer must now complete biometric checks in order to complete the transfer of ownership for any vehicle.
The minister advised that the plan is to eliminate the fake documentation, the sale of stolen cars, and fraudulent transfers. He added that this is in line with the future of bringing digital systems in public services in Sindh.
Vehicle owners can get their biometric check completed at any NADRA e-Facilitation Centre or Excise office in Sindh. The information to complete this process also gives everyone enough time to become comfortable with the requirements of the new rule, as the Government has extended the deadline until August 14.
