Sazgar Engineering Works Limited is ramping up its electric mobility objectives by planning to locally (in Pakistan) assemble two new plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)—the Cannon Alpha Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT and the Tank-500 Hi4-T 4X4 2.0L Turbo AT—by March 31, 2026.

Both models will be sold as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units, which represents a significant step forward for Pakistan’s hybrid market.

The Cannon Alpha will be marketed as a workhorse pickup truck for both commercial and recreational purchasers. The Cannon Alpha comes equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with a Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system and four-wheel drive.

Moreover, the Cannon Alpha has been engineered to play the dual role of performance and efficiency, capable of handling the demands of any aggressive terrain or terrain encounter.

The Tank-500 will deliver the luxury SUV experience with an off-road performance aspect. The Tank-500, on the same 2.0L turbo-hybrid setup, focuses on comfort, style, and performance targeted for purchasers with an adventure focus associated with eco-driving parameters.

This expansion reflects Sazgar’s plans to deliver and mainstream hybrid technologies while facilitating Pakistan’s alignment with sustainable transport solutions.

In addition, the company has already started pre-bookings for its first PHEV, the Haval H6 Hi4 1.5L AT AWD Turbo, with deliveries expected in August 2025.

The H6, also a CKD model, will feature a 1.5L turbo engine and all-wheel drive, designed for efficient urban driving with lower emissions.
