Similar to the frenzy stirred by rumours about the Huawei Mate XT, the class-leading tri-fold smartphone from Huawei, leaks surfacing on the internet have suggested a name for the alleged counterpart from Samsung.

Citing a leak shared by Yeux1122, a prolific tipster, on a South Korean social media platform, Digital Trends reported that the rumoured triple-folding from Samsung is likely to be called Galaxy G Fold.

Regarding the launch timeline of the purported Galaxy G Fold, the tipster also disclosed that the device will make it to the market by 2026, in line with what was claimed by Ross Young, a supply chain analyst famed for his accurate early disclosures.

The leaker also keeps in view the possibility of Samsung's reported tri-fold phone, the Galaxy G Fold, debuting late in 2025.

Specifications of Galaxy G Fold (rumoured)

The Galaxy G Fold is expected to feature a display with a whopping 9.96-inch width and 6.54-inch height, according to Yuex1122’s blog post on Naver, the South Korean platform.

What sets Samsung's tri-fold take apart from foldable phones currently leading the space is that it's foldable from both sides. “Weight is about the same as H, but slightly thicker,” read the leaker's post, providing a sneak peek into the remarkable agility of the handset's foldability.

It's believed that the "H" in Yuex1122’s blog post is referring to the Huawei Mate XT, the only tri-fold phone in the market at the moment. The device weighs 298 grams or 10.51 ounces, much heavier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Galaxy G Fold price

Since there's a dearth of other tri-fold phones to compare or look to for examples, Samsung's tri-fold could sit above the $2,000 mark considering the hefty price tags of Huawei Mate XT, priced at around $2,800, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, starting at $1,300 for the based model.
